moving-into-a-new-house-on-dhanteras-can-bring-bad-luck-to-you

“Bhool Kar Bhi Dhanteras Par Na Kare Naye Ghar Me Pravesh Warna Bura Waqt Ho Jaayega Shuru!”

"Good Vibes Only!" Every one of us prays for good health, happiness, and prosperity when we enter a new home. We invest our hard-earned money and lots of hope! With this comes the importance of choosing the most auspicious time of all. And that is when Dhanteras makes an avoidable buzz, it is also known as 'Dhanatrayodash,' and marks the beginning of the five-day-long festival of Diwali. The word Dhanteras itself means wealth and prosperity and is considered one of the most favourable times hands down.

It’s also the time when people invest money in something or other according to their budget. Some put a part of their wealth in gold and silver, some buy utensils, some invest in new properties, while others decide to move into their new abode with bright hopes, without consulting a Pandit or a Vastu expert, and it is where things take a turn towards the unfavourable.

According to Vastu experts and astrologers, Dhanteras signifies the 13th day of the Krishna Paksha of the lunar month Kartik and is considered a great time to buy gold, property, or give token money for a new house, all of it to flourish and bring prosperity. However, entering a new house is a strict no-no.
Considering Vastu—the Vigyaan of architecture and luxury living—is essential during construction and design to create a congenial atmosphere, so that one can experience health, wealth, harmony, and fulfilment in all areas of life. However, at the time of Dhanteras, Vastu is in a dormant state when it comes to living in the new house. Therefore, it is considered inauspicious from that point of view. Hence, Griha Pravesh and moving into a new home are completely prohibited on this day. According to savants (pandits), if you still do the home shifting, then you will invite bad luck and face serious consequences in terms of financial loss and health-related problems.

Drawbacks of Griha Pravesh on Dhanteras

  1. Happiness and health will begin deteriorating - Experts say that Vastu remains in a dormant state on Dhanteras. Therefore, it's not an appropriate time to enter a new house when seen through the lens of Vastu. They say a person self-invites diseases for himself and his family if he enters a new residence during this period. Health is the most precious gift for human beings, and even wealth can be accumulated if one has a healthy body and mind. Although if you have got your old house repaired or renovated, there will not be any problem entering it on the day of Dhanteras.
  2. Financial health will deteriorate - One enters a new home on Dhanteras, assuming it doubles their wealth. On the contrary, according to Vastu Acharya, the accession of wealth (Dhanagam) will stop, and the homeowner’s and his family’s financial condition will gradually deteriorate. Therefore, it's strictly advised not to move into a brand new home during Dhanteras.

Buying gold & silver is not the subject of Vastu

Acharya says that people often question that when there is no problem in buying gold or other metals, or property, then why is moving into a new house not advised? They answered by saying that buying a new property or any metal falls under the Muhurat section of Astrology whereas moving into a new property is the subject of Vastu and as per it, the action is unfavourable.

The scriptures state that the best time to worship during Dhanteras is in the evening, which is called the Pradosh period. According to Panchang, Dhanteras will be observed this year on October 22, 2022, and the Muhurta for worshipping Lord Dhanvantari is from 07.10 pm to 08.24 pm. The duration of the puja will be for 1 hour and 14 minutes.

Investing in new business on Dhanteras brings good fortune

According to Vedic astrologers, investing in a new business or project can bring luck ahead of Diwali. So, you can inaugurate a new shop or even open a new bank account on this day. Acharya suggests that one should invest in a new venture that translates into future returns instead of spending on buying new items.
